The Cat Island is not only known for the beaches just like any other islands in The Bahamas but also known for Mount Alvernia which is sixty three meters above sea level. On the summit of Mount Alvernia, you will find the famous Catholic monastery called The Hermitage.
Eleuthera is famous for its pink sand beaches, which is a must see, this is only a one hundred ten-mile island, also famous for its pineapples. This island has also been a getaway for the British Royal family. In Exuma island you will find one of the largest underwater and land preserves which is the Bahamas National Trust's Exuma National Land and Sea Park. This has underwater limestone, coral reefs, blue holes, caves and marine life and also you can find here the Bahamian Iguana.
Inagua Island is home to the West Indian flamingoes in the Bahamas, this island is one of the largest flamingo refuge and Lake Rosa known as Lake Windsor before is the birds' breeding ground. Inagua also is the salt capital of The Bahamas, due to less rainfall and home to the natural salt ponds, this is where you will find The Morton Salt Company.
The Long Island is famous for its beautiful sceneries, cliffs and caves in the northeast and low hillside on the south, like the most of the islands it also has a long stretch of beaches and has diving spots but its beautiful sceneries have made this island famous. This is the third island discovered by Christopher Columbus and its shrine is up on the north end of the island.
